Case Studies
Bang the Table has successfully managed well over 200 online consultations for 80 clients in the two and half years since our establishment.
Our clients from across local, provincial, and national governments, as well as the private sector, have consulted on a wide range of subjects. Many lessons have learned; here we share just a few.

Broken Hill Council’s Aquatic Centre
“Consulting on a very specific topic, like the Aquatic Centre, proved to be successful for us”, reports Anne Bransdon from Broken Hill Council. “The redevelopment of the complex had generated community discussion (and passion) for more than a decade. We received some very distinct views around the entire complex, on payment and at the end of the day canvassed the community on season tickets and family tickets. The Bang the Table forum and site gave us a whole new opportunity to cater effectively to our community in terms of consultation.” Read the full case study on our blog.
Greater Taree Council’s Public Smoking Policy
“Yes, community opinion was divided,” explains Val, Taree’s Media and Community Relations Officer. “Right from the start we knew that the proposal would generate some fairly emotional opinions and we wanted to ensure that people were in the best position to have their say. By using online engagement software, we feel they did.” Read the full case study on our Blog.
Lismore Council’s Rates Levy
“The response has, to be honest, been a little hard to take for our Council,” he says. “It’s very different from the “faint praise” response that we normally get when we send out our mail-out surveys. But to us it’s useful information. If people aren’t happy with what you’re doing, it’s better to know it and then look at ways to improve it.” Read the full case study on our blog.
