BudgetAllocator is designed to help your community provide intelligent input into your budgeting decisions. It makes transparent the difficult choices that need to be made when budgets are limited. It exposes your community to the potential financial impacts of their choices.
Functionality
With the BudgetAllocator you can: (1) Group programs under Business Area headings; (2) Group projects under Program Area headings; (3) List line items as mutually exclusive options – for example, increase or decrease a group budget by 5%; (4) List stand alone projects – for example, a new swimming pool, new bike paths, new BBQ areas; (5) List as many Business, Program and individual budget items as you require; (6) Provide descriptions of each budget item to make the impacts of choices crystal clear. (7) Provide an image of each budget item to make the choices even clear. (8) Set budget limits beyond which the both Program Area and the overall budget go into the red. (9) Link budget overspending to possible rates or levy increases.
With BudgetAllocator your community can: (1) Choose the projects they want to see proceed; (2) See the full impacts of their decision to overspend on the existing budget; (3) Comment on individual projects; (4) Comment on the overall budget.
