How to make an introductory video

Since we put video on the Bang the Table site the take up by our clients has been slow. With a few notable exceptions there has been a reluctance to use videos despite the obvious benefits in getting messages through to the community. We had hoped people would embrace the technology inviting video submissions from the community and perhaps video blogging to the community but to date innovation has been lacking. I highlighted in January the excellent use of video on the Mosman Council site (see below).

We aren’t sure of why take up of video has been slow. Certainly, there are few technological barriers to making and posting simple short videos. I suspect this is a cultural issue within some of the organisations we deal with.

Today we went live with a major consultation for Wellington City Council in New Zealand to help them with their long term planning click here to have a look.

The video from the Mayor is a wonderful introduction to the consultation so I thought I would draw attention to it here as an example of best practice.

I’d love to see others if people would care to highlight them.
